Boston: Diverse City Submission Requirements
Eligibility
Any person who falls into the AIA Diversity Committee definition of
under-represented or otherwise groups, bearing in mind that the focus of the
exhibition is the work of women and ethnic minorities, including immigrant or
"foreign" architects and other qualified persons from a minority or
under-represented category living or working in the area of the host City.
DiverseCity Individual Panels
Entrants should have ALL of the following professional qualifications.
Graduate with a university degree level of education in architecture such as
B Arch/ M.Arch or equivalent under the rules of the awarding body.
NAAB standard of education or its UIA equivalent or equivalent experience
under an approved Intern Development Program and at least three years
experience under the supervision of a licensed architect.
Submissions can be by individuals or by a firm of individuals where all the
partners fall into the under-represented category.

Panel Sizes
20x20inch black foam core board. 3/16th thick.
Please use one piece reproduction as part of the exhibition will travel.
RGB colors for the side band should be either R255:G208:B7 or R255:G153:B0 or R202:G0:B67 or R206:G201:B0.
Submission date: Confirm that you will be submitting a panel by Monday 24th November to debbiebentley@att.net.
All panels must be submitted to the BSA, 52 Broad St Boston
by Monday 30th November 2003.
Please supply if possible a CD of supporting files, individually saved
.tif or gif files. Text must be in Word format file of the
personal and project information. This is for the power point and web page.
Submission
This project is designed to highlight an individual designer /architect, to
inspire and mentor others. Each submission has to focus on the work of named
individual(s).
The projects illustrated must be designed by the person submitting them.
· Projects can be built or unrealized.
· Projects can be anywhere in the world.
· Illustrations can be sketches, renderings, photographs or drawings.
· You must have the copyright or permission to use any material displayed
· All illustrations must be 2 D
· All projects must be named and location given.
· Illustrations can be annotated if you wish
· There must be a minimum of 3 illustrations of your projects.
· The smallest image size for projects is 4"x4"

flavor of the exhibition before writing your text. http://www.diversecity-architects.com
The text should contain the following description of yourself. (You can
include reference photographs if you wish. These can be smaller than 4'x4".)
Answer the 3 following questions:
1) Where you come from and where you trained at university.
2) Academic / professional bodies /boards /committees that you have been
appointed to/ are a member of.
3) Brief history of your career. (150 words max)
Answer at least 2 of the following:
· Why you chose to study architecture?
· Cultural or events that have effected you and your designs.
· (For instance leaving your country and moving to America may have made you
re-address your cultural background. The arrival of children may have changed
how you work or design).
· If you have any mentors/ role models, support groups, and how they have
affected your work?
· How Diversity affects what and how you design?
· How does working in a multi -cultural city inspire you?
· What would you say to someone who wants to become an architect?
