‘Young Architects’ Exhibit At MOMA

This exhibition features the proposals of the five finalists in the MoMA/P.S.1 Young Architects Program. Each year five finalists are drawn from a host of emerging American designers to compete with project proposals for a temporary installation in the courtyard of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. The winning design houses P.S.1's summer Warm Up music series. All five are a slice of today's most innovative design work. This year's finalists are !ndie architecture (Denver, CO), Bade Stageberg Cox (Brooklyn, NY), L.E.FT architects (New York, NY), MOS (Cambridge, MA and New Haven, CT) and PARA-project (Brooklyn, NY).

Distressed Real Estate Summit In New York
The United States is in the grips of a recession and a credit freeze, both of which have affected liquidity in all aspects of the economy—especially in the residential and commercial real estate sectors. Faced with an illiquid debt market, real estate owners and investors are grappling with maturing CMBS and other forms of real estate debt that will become due—with so little replacement capital available. The next big challenge in real estate will be how to manage this maturing CMBS and other short term debt, and the steps owners and investors faced with declining revenues should take to maintain positive NOI.
How many owners will default on loan payments? Will special servicers respond in time? Will government officials respond, and what measures will they take? How has this challenge created new opportunities for low-leverage investors and owners? And, where are others, including brokers, innovative lenders, as well as buyers, finding opportunities? GreenPearl’s Distressed Real Estate Summit is the premier national information and networking event for anyone who works in distressed assets, or would like to learn more about this burgeoning asset class.
