US UK Quaslifications Compared
- DRAFT
Although we all may think there is little difference between
a US architectural degree and a UK architectural degree neither
NCARB nor the ARB directly recognize qualifications from either
country. In order to prove that a degree from either country
is equivalent you must contact the
ARB
or the
EESA-NCARB.
For UK citizens moving to the US it is advisable to contact
the education board at the state you are moving to and then
NCARD to discuss you exact circumstances.
For US citizens you may wish to contact the ARB
directly of the AIA UK
chapter for more information.
Should you be a student and are looking at schools or work
experience you should contact the US school direclty to discuss
qualifications. If you are transferring tot a UK school you
should contact the school however if you are looking to move
into a diploma course you may be required to complete the
RIBA Part 1 exemption. Again you will likely be directed to
the ARB to prove equivalent qualifications.
